If I didn't know better, I'd say it was a sign the universe didn't totally have it in for us.

Then again, it feels like people are either fine or dead. Not much in-between.

... So maybe it was more like the universe giving a band-aid to someone who's bleeding out.

I keep saying--this universe has a cruel god.

And a pathetic one, if they keep needing help from outsiders.

Does it need help, or is it just looking for entertainment? It's been playing keep-away with answers this whole time.

Well, now you're getting into the real question-- can you apply morality to a concept like the universe? [ a beat ] Well, the second part about the game, that's definitely true.

Not the universe, but its god.

[ she doesn't really buy the whole 'will of the universe itself' thing. there's gotta be someone behind the wheel... ]

Gods should be able to do whatever they want, buuuuut this is a little twisted, even for me.

God of the universe, huh...

[ he can roll with that, though he doesn't know whether that's right or not. ]

Gods are pretty twisted in general, but I dunno, this seems right up the alley of the one I've heard of the most.

Always destroying their worlds and sacrificing people when they're mad.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

[ axel has only ever really heard of hades, who is a great example of gods due to being a disney villain. ]

Kind of a bummer, though.

It's a bummer for us because we're those people. But from their perspective, maybe we just deserve it!

[leaberator]

That's subjective! We should get a say on whether we deserve it or not.

But if a god listened to all their pawns, would any of them say, "Yes, I deserve it" instead of saying they don't?

I would be getting rid of anyone who didn't have common sense, you know?
