WEEK 1, WEDNESDAY

[ i was going to do something else entirely but then puzzle boxes happened so, why not,

Lea's carrying his own with him when he spots Miki off in the distance in (spins wheel) the village, the wheel didn't go far, and he decides he might as well assuage his curiosity on a teenage girl. as one does. ]

Hiya, Miki. You get one of these, too?

[ he gestures at the box ]

[stillstands]

[ i forgot about puzzles boxes until right now bless you.

As one does. Miki spins around when her name is called, and she glances down at the box Lea is gesturing to. ]

Oh. Is this a theme this week?

[ hold up, she's holding up her own, and shaking it slightly. ]

I wonder what the purpose is? Other than challenging us and probably annoying us.

[leaberator]

[ he shrugs, looking at his own and turning it over every which way ]

Who knows. Maybe it's practice for the coffin?

[ so they learn how to solve a puzzle without breaking it. ]

[stillstands]

[ god. that coffin. ]

I don't think whatever's tapping away inside that would fit in these things...

[ she turns her box over a bit as well, before shaking it gently to see if she ca hear anything. ]

I wonder what does fit in here?

Well, obviously, that's why this is just practice.

[ jokes aside. are they ever truly aside? he looks at his own box critically ]

Something... small? You got me there. I was mostly thinking anything that fits in here at least can't be awful.

[stillstands]

That's an optimistic outlook.

[ Dry, bluntness from a teenager. Miki, pls. ]

Maybe a trinket, or... something to help us here? I guess we'll only know if we figure out how to crack the code.

Of those two options, a trinket sounds a lot more likely. [ so much for optimism? ] But it's worth a shot trying to open 'em to make sure. How good are you at puzzles?

[stillstands]

... Reasonable? Maybe? It's not my hobby or anything, but I think I have the patience to sit and figure one out.

Dunno about good, but I am stubborn?

[ he's played with a lot of puzzles out of boredom, so has he always finished them? no ]

WEEK 3 - some magical time post trial when axel might be free?

[stillstands]

[ Hello Axel. Miki’s on the prowl after the trial, mostly because she can’t really stop long enough otherwise she’ll keep thinking and that’s something she really isn’t keen on doing right this second. Her bag’s still with her, might as well check up on his injury and make sure it really was healed post trial. ]

[leaberator]

[ hehehe... 69.... ]

[ anyway, that magical time post-trial is very close to the end of it, so the good news for miki checking up on him is he's still shirtless (closes my eyes) and miki isn't someone axel would try to dodge, so he does pause in his walking when he notices her ]

... You need something?

[ he doesn't sound mad at her, because he's not. he does sound tired, though. ]

[stillstands]

[ nice. ]

... I wanted to look at the wound, before you go. Just to be sure everything's okay.

[ Big mood on the tired though. Miki sounds a bit like someone put her through a strainer. ]

Oh. Sure. It feels fine, but... [ he gestures towards his back ] Have at it?

[ should he like... sit down for this ]

[ she's like five foot you gangly fool, sit. ]

Okay, then--

[ She's quick to check it over, pulling away any bandages that may still be there and running a hand across the scar there, checking for any red or sore looking patches. ]

They weren't lying, it's fully healed. [ Phew... ]

[ he's sitting down and she's at his back, so he turns to look at her at that, a small frown on his face for a second before he smirks, wry ]

For what? Saving my butt?

[stillstands]

[ She raises a hand and whacks him on the shoulder. It's very light and absolutely not intended to hurt, but that's terrible bedside practice Miki, excuse me?? ]

Never that.

Just... the scroll. [ she sighs. ] I just wanted to be sure and it...

[leaberator]

[ he goes "ow" very believably, mock pouting for a second. but when she mentions the rest he turns back, sighing and rubbing the back of his neck. ]

... No. It's... You were right to do it. [ he sounds tired and sad, and he's not looking at her ] You're a lot stronger than I am.

WEEK 5 - post cyoa

[stillstands]

[ knock knock, axel where are you. ]

[ he's in uhhh next to the boutique because i realize miki does not know he has a new shirasu house. it's fine. he comes out wearing a new outfit and looking like he really regrets every single step he takes when he walks ]

Miki, hey. Lookin' for a change of clothes, too?

[ he's burning the nyanperona thing. ]

[stillstands]

[ good point, she's still dressed like a tiny wolf. ] I probably should get one, shouldn't I?

Actually, I was looking for you. [ She digs in her pocket and then produces

his gummiphone. ]

[ he holds out his hand for it ]

You dropped it really early on, when you were changing. I, uh. A lot happened so I forgot to mention it.

Don't worry about it. I wouldn't have even realized I'd lost it then if it wasn't for you. It wasn't exactly priority number one in my mind, either.

[stillstands]
