It's a conundrum. Do we berate ourselves for caring about people too much that it blinds us to what's around us, or do we berate ourselves for doing what's probably the "right" thing but at the cost of hurting people around us.

I don't know. I did the latter, and I'm not... happy about it. I don't feel like I did something good.

I can't help you with that. My track record says no matter which path I take, I kinda end up hurting people no matter what. [ but that's neither here nor there, so he turns to face her with a shrug ] You followed your heart. I don't think you were wrong for it. But it's not ... always an easy thing to do.

My track record isn't great either, I don't think. Maybe it's impossible to do something without someone else hurting in the process.

I'm just... throwing ideas out there, rather than looking for answers. But, I guess what I'm trying to say is don't beat yourself up over not wanting to hurt, or doubt someone you care about.

... And be careful around angry men with daggers.

He was... so angry. He always seemed so calm and collected when I spoke to him. Was that all building up inside him all this time?

Eh... calm and collected people are usually the ones with the most rage, from my experience.

The anger's always there, just sorta... simmering.

He never answered why he went after Kazuaki either. But I wonder if it was less about him and more about Four. People liked Kazuaki, and if Shirasu was trying to frame her...

I planned on asking him, but... [ he waves a hand around as if to say Things Happened ] But yeah. I think you're right. He was trying to frame her. I can't figure out what it was about Four that made him willing to go that far, yet.

Something must have unnerved him enough to make him act that way. But... Four always seems friendly and nice enough. [ ... ]

The fact he was willing to kill someone to take her out is concerning though. [ Concerning regarding Shirasu, or regarding Four? She's not sure. ]

I'm more unnerved by the fact he was willing to work with Hisoka to do it.

[ in what world is four worse than hisoka. ]

I can't imagine anyone working with Hisoka, willingly.

He was just a force of his own. I wonder if they'd planned to deal with each other, independently, at some point...? They both had a huge secret over the other.

He's stuck in a wheelchair and no one really trusts him anymore. Surely opening up would be a better option than doubling down and remaining silent.
