lili will probably watch to see where axel goes after everything - and she'll leave him alone for a bit. it seems that she has something else to attend to first... but eventually, a few hours after trial, she'll knock on the door of his temporary residence.]

... do you have a moment?

[ ... it's not reluctant or anything, but he also isn't getting up to open it, just calling out: ]

Yeah, sure. Come in.

[ he's not doing anything spectacular right now, apparently just. cleaning up the room a bit. he's not looking at Lili directly, but that's more about him than her. ]

[ . . . it's not like she can blame him.

she'll go to open the door and gently close it behind her. she watches him move before bending at the waist to bow her head]

... you must be going through a lot. I'm sorry to bother you.

[ he does look at her at that. ]

... Don't worry about me. The ones who really got messed up from this... well, it's not me.

[ he's not a charitable person, or at least he doesn't think so of himself-- but tsurumaru lost his life. mary's about to lose hers, too. ookurikara lost a friend.

all axel really did was be unable to keep a little girl safe after he promised. how's that new? ]

I don't think anyone is alright after that. Even if it's not to the same extent... it's not as if people will stop being concerned over you just because you say it.

[lili's a hypocrite but whatever. more importantly than that, it's as clearly as she can say that she won't stop worrying, because saying that to someone she's only known for a week is. you know. hard.]

... I just have something to tell you. You might already know, but I wanted to be direct.

[ he can't say anything about that first part. she's not exactly wrong, but... still, he looks at least a little curious on the second part. ]

If I'm honest, I wasn't that scared of dying. [ there are, after all, far worse fates. but he grins at her, soft and a bit sad ] But it would've been pretty hard to keep working on figuring things out around here if I had.

You should be more scared of dying. [she's a hypocrite but] You're reliable. And kind. People need you here, and they're scared of you dying.

That doesn't mean you can die now, or early. Live on in other people's hearts once you've reached 80, and then I'll accept it.

People can't remember you if they don't have the time to know you.

I don't know him well enough yet to say I've had worse, but I've dealt with some pretty awful types in my time.

He's definitely one of the worst I've met, at least. I hate him.
