Yeah, that sounds about right. I dunno anyone who's comfortable with that one.

[ he picks up sorakitty and makes the trek to gently dump it back in shirasu's lap, if only because axel's own stupid kitten is looking like it wants to wake up and start roughhousing. roxi is a menace and she is now going after the other one. rip... ]

[sorakitty is perfectly happy to return to his owner's lap, settling there and curling up with a pleased meow; the other is still pointedly ignoring everything from underneath the bed, while shirasu scratches behind sora's ears.]

Unsurprising. All of these effects so far have been an annoyance, at best.

[he glances to axel's kitten there, though--]

You adopted one as well, hm? Don't worry too much about her with Sora-kun, but Isame doesn't like anyone.

Annoyance is ... pretty much the nicest term I can think of, yeah.

[ he hates partner things. he glances as roxi attempts to crawl underneath to get to isame. it is awkward and she is completely uncoordinated about it. it is hard to tell if it's because of the missing leg or the missing eye. ]

A bunch of people did. We're gonna end up with more cats hanging around than anything else. [ he doesn't sound too bothered about that. ] It's fine. She's at the age where they need to learn boundaries, so... now or never, Roxi.

[ he's completely ok with his kitten getting beaten up because. cats fighting is normal. ]

[much like axel recognized his cat's nickname, that seems a little familiar to shirasu-- but he doesn't object to letting her wander beneath the bed.

there's a warning growl from isame, but nothing else so far.]

-well, if you're certain. He has a poor attitude, but she'll learn quickly enough.

[ i hate that you made me do this. axel's watching it happen, clearly ready to pick her up just in case it gets wild ]

[ he peers under a little curiously under at the weird silence. are they. are they cuddling. did they immediately go to cuddling. ]

I think I found your cat's weakness.

They're all named for people, yes.

[but he frowns slightly at that second comment, leaning down as much as he can manage to try to get a look.]

...what are they doing?

[they're not cuddling, but isame appears to be play fighting rather than actually fighting-- trying to show her how to do it properly.]

Friends of yours? She's named after two of mine.

[ that's a lot more ic for roxi which is terrible that i have ic for fake cats. anyway she is so excited about this and also so, so bad at play fighting. good luck, isame. good luck. she is tumbling all over the place. ]

I think he was offended about how bad she is at playing.

[there's a brief, faint smile at that. not exactly like his namesake, but... still a bit similar.]

But I suppose 'friends' is close enough, yes.

Don't try to give me a "comrade" spiel, man. You're naming cats after 'em.

[ it's. teasing. a little. he sits down to watch the cats go. isame is pinning roxi every single time because let's be real, she stands no chance. but they are... enjoying themselves, probably. ]

So I'm guessing the personality fit, too?

More that I wouldn't call some of them that, now.

[it's dismissive, but less in the "it's not important" way and more an "i don't want to talk about it" way. in the meantime, isame is surprisingly patient with the kitten, just keeping at it without actually snapping at her.]

They're not exact fits, but they reminded me enough of their namesakes.

So the real Soramaru's nice and Isame isn't, is that what you're saying? [ he does have to make one joke. one single joke. anyway he'll be NICE ] I was just messing around for mine. I guess she does have the fighty part for both of 'em down, though.

[that gets a very faint laugh, actually, as shirasu shakes his head.]

Ah, he was nice enough to me, for the most part. He just had little trust for outsiders. Sora-kun got his name for being friendly and a little bolder.

[he still can't really see under the bed, but he's listening, at least-- just in case.]

Xion and Roxas. [ casually. ] It was meant as a joke, but it kinda stuck.

I suppose it takes one to truly recognize one.

[but he hums thoughtfully at that answer, toying idly with one of the dangling bits of his headband.]

I think her name suits her. She's quite persistent, it seems.

[-okay, he has to laugh slightly at that, shaking his head.]

[that's as much as he seems to be willing to acknowledge. they're not friends, probably.]

He really doesn't know when it's best to give up, though.

It's a bit of a pain, honestly. I've tried telling him, but...

With you? Haven't got the slightest clue. Whatever idea he's got stuck in his head, you're pretty much stuck with it, though.

He apparently thinks he's going to stop people from killing me, for whatever reason.
