Honestly, I think they are also quite fond of you—and fear for the health of your charges, should you pass. I don't imagine either of them would take your death well.

I am aware of Emma's role, my own, and, once you elucidate it, yours. Four and Minato also seem to have some ability. Particularly Minato—I assume that is the truth behind his and Akane's "relationship".
