[ honestly, axel's just exploring the areas, trying to find a space to nap that is 100% clown free. He doesn't actually expect it to be the casino, mind, but everything is worth a shot. He also just straight up didn't expect a casino to be here, but whatever, places be weird.
He raises a hand in greeting when he notices Shirasu, though. they haven't talked much, or been properly introduced, so lea should probably change that... ]
Hey. Is it just me, or is every other room in this place really out of sync with the rest of it?
Ah- no, I've noticed that as well. It's strange, isn't it?
[he glances up from where he's been eyeing a slot machine suspiciously, giving lea a little nod of acknowledgment. hello, tall clown stuck with the other tall clown...]
And I'm admittedly unfamiliar with parts of this.
[shirasu might have been looking at the machine like he was unsure what, exactly, it's supposed to be.]
[ axel is clearly trying to think of how to explain this, but luckily for shirasu, he is ... really used to dumbing down concepts for people ... sorry you're being treated like a child ]
Basically, it's a kind of game where people put munny in, and there's a chance they'll get more munny from it if the symbols match up. [ can you Hear the munny vs money difference. hopefully not. ] But like I said, most of 'em are rigged. They give ya a sense of control by making the lever pull decide when the thing stops, but truth is, it's all luck.
[mostly, anyway. he leans in to peer at the reels, there, inspecting the symbols thoughtfully.]
It doesn't seem like it should be that difficult... if your reflexes are fast enough, it should be simple to match them up. Luck shouldn't be that large a part of it.
Nah. Didn't have a whole lot of free time for stuff like that. But I had a [ um. what word to use, here. ] coworker who was really into gambling. Spend enough time with people, and you pick up a fact or two.
[the library's never a bad place to hang out and also i have a pc set here on sunday already. so. here we are. and here shirasu is, still with that sake jug of his for some reason, idly going over a book that was probably the closest one on the shelf-- something about astrology? he really doesn't look like he's actually reading it, which may explain why he glances up quickly enough when someone else walks in.]
Here for a bit of light reading, after a long weekend?
[his tone is casual enough, but he definitely is looking at axel closely. hello, one of the people who definitely suspected him, what do you think the odds are that he still has a little salt.]
Perhaps that had something to do with it, or perhaps he had to wait that long to be able to give that sort of help. It seems frustrating for both of them, as well.
I think the latter's more likely. If it was a convenience thing, they'd have hit you both at the same time, especially to try an' cover up a murder with two culprits.
[ which again, his bad on that one. still, he sighs ]
The passing out thing is a pain. Not to mention-- Kazuaki's letter... just knowing the little guy tried to wake up Minato and knew he was either gonna die or kill someone... That stuff's messed up, man.
It truly is. Thinking of that happening to someone you're tied to...
[it's uncomfortable. someone could end their life and potentially yours, and there's absolutely nothing to be done about it; his brow furrows a little further, there.]
Though I suppose we both have similar problems to worry about. Mine may have someone targeting her for some reason, and yours... certainly doesn't seem to discourage that.
[which is to say, hisoka sure does seem to like annoying the shit out of people and it will be amazing if he continues to live.]
Thanks, but you say that like he isn't already everyone's go-to vote if we don't get a last minute reveal. I've kinda accepted I'm always at risk of something with him around or not.
Well, if you ever need to find somewhere else to avoid him-- he's yet to start bothering me or Four, as far as I'm aware. If he harasses her, she hasn't said anything of it to me.
You'd be surprised how many people have offered that already. [ ...there's a pretty length pause before he admits: ] He's been pretty curious about her, to be honest, but he's "curious" about a lot of people here. I dunno if that means he talks to them or just... exists in their general direction, or what.
Right. Wish I could help ya, but... [ the implication that there's not much anyone can do is there. he waves a hand ] Good luck with that. I'd rather someone not be targeting Four 'cause Hisoka got bored, either.
WEEK 1, TUESDAY
He raises a hand in greeting when he notices Shirasu, though. they haven't talked much, or been properly introduced, so lea should probably change that... ]
Hey. Is it just me, or is every other room in this place really out of sync with the rest of it?
[ yes. this is clearly. an amazing opener. ]

[he glances up from where he's been eyeing a slot machine suspiciously, giving lea a little nod of acknowledgment. hello, tall clown stuck with the other tall clown...]
And I'm admittedly unfamiliar with parts of this.
[shirasu might have been looking at the machine like he was unsure what, exactly, it's supposed to be.]
no subject
Oh, the slot machine? Those things are always rigged.
[ that explained... nothing ]
no subject
[he frowns at the machine, there, a hand resting on it like that might help explain what the fuck this is for.]
no subject
Basically, it's a kind of game where people put munny in, and there's a chance they'll get more munny from it if the symbols match up. [ pokemon had the only good slot machines send tweet. Lea knocks on the top of one. ]
So unless you got magic luck powers, it's kind of a bust.
no subject
[he sounds a little impressed, maybe.]
Do you spend much time in places like this?

w2, sunday
Here for a bit of light reading, after a long weekend?
[his tone is casual enough, but he definitely is looking at axel closely. hello, one of the people who definitely suspected him, what do you think the odds are that he still has a little salt.]
no subject
Yeah. I'm looking for a book on picking up clues for dummies.
[ there's a wry smile on his face as he shrugs, the closest to an apology shirasu is gonna get ]
no subject
[which is the closest to an acceptance axel is going to get, so they're like, somewhat on the same page. he sets his book aside, there.]
You truly do have a habit of coming through just at the end.
no subject
[ it's dismissive ]
It's not like I actually expected Sol to give me a hint right there, but he prolly got exhausted being given apples when they were the main clue.
no subject
[live with it, axel.]
Perhaps that had something to do with it, or perhaps he had to wait that long to be able to give that sort of help. It seems frustrating for both of them, as well.
no subject
[ it sounds terrible. ]
But with all that, we still don't know who framed your partner and killed the bird.
no subject
[he exhales a sigh, there, with a shake of his head.]
I suppose we'll both have to keep an eye out, but being unable to step in and protect her if anything happens... it's difficult to simply accept that.
[people who hate forced unconsciousness: shirasu.]

I think the latter's more likely. If it was a convenience thing, they'd have hit you both at the same time, especially to try an' cover up a murder with two culprits.

no subject
I think the difference here is I might just go ahead and congratulate whoever finally targets him.
no subject
[he cannot physically say he'd be sad to see hisoka go, though]
But we have been doing quite well with that lately, so perhaps you'd be fine in the end.
no subject
Thanks, but you say that like he isn't already everyone's go-to vote if we don't get a last minute reveal. I've kinda accepted I'm always at risk of something with him around or not.
no subject
[because, well, he can't argue that. hisoka even got votes this time.]
Has he at least been tolerable for you, or...?
no subject
[ the look on his face can only be translated to "long-suffering" ]
Not even a little. It's almost impressive.
no subject
[literally why is that guy The Way He Is.]
Well, if you ever need to find somewhere else to avoid him-- he's yet to start bothering me or Four, as far as I'm aware. If he harasses her, she hasn't said anything of it to me.

[ hisoka is just. horrible? is the point? ]
no subject
[creepy clown can only make things worse, tbh.]
Thank you for telling me. I hadn't realized he might have an interest.
no subject
[ he sounds like he's speaking from experience somehow, wow, weird ]
no subject
[thanks for the good advice, sorry about how you got that wisdom.]
no subject
[ ... ]
Hey, not to be nosy, but what were you guys arguing about during trial? About her temper?
no subject
[there's a shake of his head, there.]
But I didn't wish to waste anyone's efforts on figuring out if she'd been afflicted to make her act more emotionally. It wouldn't have been necessary.
no subject
[ that's like all the girls he knows so it's? fine ]
no subject
[but that's all he really says; it's four's business, past that.]
no subject
[ he waves it off ]
Maybe someone else figured that out and thought that's what would make her a good target.
no subject
[but he sighs, there-]
I'll worry about it more if it continues to happen. All I can do until then is be watchful.
