[Being partners, Lea won't ever get rid of the clown. Sometimes, Lea will turn around, and the clown will just be there in the distance, watching. And probably waving in greeting even if said clown isn't wandering over.
Just letting Lea know he's paying attention.
Even quiet and peaceful times on the farmland under the orchard trees are interrupted by awful clown. Lea is tall enough, and Hisoka is tall enough. So when Hisoka unfurls upside down from within the leaves and branches, letting himself hang his head right by Lea's shoulder, it matches inch for inch almost. He's fairly silent in doing it. One hand skirts down on the other side of Lea's head, ready.]

[ this isn't Lea's first time being stalked by someone-- and though he's a lot more used to being the one doing the tailing, he's noticed Hisoka. It's been hard to not when he seems to thrive on it, admittedly, but he's handled having his every move watched before. Hisoka will have to get bored eventually.
Eventually, unfortunately, is not now, when Lea is distracted, half-mindedly doing fire circles in the air as he heavily considers taking a nap underneath the tree and not at all expecting a clown to drop in from above. To his credit, he doesn't flinch from the drop so close to his face.
Less to his credit, the fire he was playing with goes directly into the tree, and the look on his face says he's already got clown PTSD. ]
[Oh dear. That's definitely fire up in the fruit tree. Ah well. He's not a fireman, he's a clown? So...
He just continues to hang in place for right this moment.] Just saying hello. [As if it's the most normal thing in the world.] Practicing? You might get me excited. [Don't say it.
Worse, the hand on the other side of Lea's head sweeps in that very angular face, brushing it with the palm. It isn't just a touch, strangely enough. It's a little more of something, and this surprises even Hisoka.
The red-haired boy is familiar, of course. Young. Quite a lot younger than the Hisoka who unraveled from the tree; he would be terribly cute if not for the fact it's who it is. And for Lea, the fight isn't one-sided. The white life energy can be seen around both Hisoka and his opponent. Gyo lets Lea see the Bungee Gum and the magnets.
Feeling Hisoka may be the weirdest of everything. A boy exuding excitement, amusement and, very distantly, arousal. Bloodlust. A lack of real, true fear, and an inflated confidence. Hisoka is enjoying the sport of the fight, the artistry of it. He knows he's the victor; there's not a single doubt. A sick twist of pleasure knowing the opponent is beaten, the final stage nothing but death.
And then it's over, and Hisoka does little else besides blink a few times curiously.]
[ There's something dismissive on the tip of Lea's tongue, but it doesn't get a chance to be uttered before Hisoka's touch brings something else to the forefront.
You'd think one murderous bad clown is enough for one thread, but we're going back in time for a second one.
It's interspersed with shadows at first; Axel hidden in the woods near the locked gate of the mansion as the boy and the man in the black coat talk until he shows himself. The movement he makes when he throws his weapon is easy, practiced. The snap of his fingers as he brings the man's existence to an end even more so.
But Hisoka also gets to feel exactly what Axel felt about all of it. And even as he jokes, even when Vexen burns to death in front of him, there's nothing. At best, something like a vague, contempt-tinged pity as he watches, but it's not enough to truly be counted as feeling something.
Up until the boy addresses him directly, and there's a burst-- curiosity, contemplation. It lasts only a second before the memory ends.
When everything is said and done, Lea moves away from Hisoka this time-- nearly leaping backwards into the tree on fire before he seems to remember it, like an afterthought. There's something a bit wild in his eyes when he narrows them at Hisoka, hand stretched out as if calling for a weapon that isn't there.
... Did he seriously...? Lea can't even begin to understand what he saw, exactly. And why, of all things, did he remember...? ]
It's entertaining at best. It's interesting. And, what's more than getting a glimpse into Lea's dark past is... the boy. Sora. Oh, it's too much? The look in the boy's eyes. So determined. So strong.
So ready to do the right thing for the wrong reasons. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. He knows that look so well. Gon. The name echoes in the hollow of his hungry mind.] Gon, [is what he whispers under his breath, craving.
Yes, that boy and Gon would get along, wouldn't they? So full of righteous strength, unyielding. They'll make great men, great fighters.
Hisoka hugs himself at the arms, squeezing, trying to both revel in the excitement and send it away before it overtakes him. He's still hanging upside down as Lea stumbles away, back arched and eyes closed. He pretty much has his first Sub Schwing. Thanks, Lea.
But!! The tree is still on fire, and there's the fact they just ping-ponged memories at each other. So Hisoka unfurls from the branch of the tree, tipped over, and steps down toward the ground one leg at a time until he's standing, facing Lea.]
I enjoyed what you showed me. You'll have to show me more... of the boy with spirit. You and I... We're not so different after all.
[ between the memory and the ... whatever it is Hisoka was doing up in that tree just now, it'd be remiss to say Lea's hackles aren't raised.
But it gets even worse when Hisoka talks about Sora. Doesn't the kid have enough on his plate already? Damn it. He tries to not rise to the bait, but he's short when he speaks. ]
[Slowly, he takes a step toward Lea. And then another.] The look on his face was magnificent. I guess I'll just have to take what I can. [He starts raising his hands as he draws near.
[ reflexively, it's fire he throws first-- straight at Hisoka, without deviation, just to keep burning more of the orchard I guess. It's fast, because he's always had at least that going for him. ]
Here's an idea, keep your hands to yourself.
[ kinda wishes he had a weapon! because now he's just going to go with fucking off for 500, Alex ]
[Surprisingly, the attack is appreciated. Like a snake, he coils out of the way, but the singe of the heat over his face as it goes by is nice. It's good to know he has a rival in agility and speed.
A smile lingers on his mouth as he stands under the burning tree, but he lets Lea go for now. It's fine. There's always other times.]
